History & Art

History & Art consist of the Museum of Copenhagen, Thorvaldsens Museum, Nikolaj Kunsthal and Copenhagen City Archives

The organisation is part of the Culture and Leisure Administration of the City of Copenhagen. The four institutions connect the past and the present, thereby contributing to citizens, tourists and visitors experiencing the value of history and art in their lives.

“We want to make it more interesting to visit and live in Copenhagen. History & Art aims to enrich, inspire, move and challenge through stories about people that traverse time and space. Our goal is to contribute to city culture, and we look forward to collaborations both within and beyond the organisation.”
Lene Floris, Director, History & Art
