Nikolaj Kunsthal exhibits contemporary experimental Danish and international art in the heart of Copenhagen.
The art centre is located in the former Sankt Nikolaj church which is the third-oldest church in Copenhagen. The church has one of the tallest towers in the city – and provides a unique setting for contemporary art – also in a European context.
With relevant and innovative exhibitions the art centre provides citizens and visitors with an inspiring and provocative insight into the artistic and cultural developments of today.
Nikolaj Kunsthal collaborates with a wide range of organisations locally, nationally and internationally within new forms of artistic expression and media. The art centre also creates projects within the urban space, hosts an annual and very popular exhibition for children and adults alike, and hosts the FOKUS video festival, which is the biggest of its kind in Denmark.
